Description

Tart cranberries and sweet, juicy strawberries make a deliciously festive pairing in this colorful Cranberry Strawberry Holiday Jam. Fresh orange adds a lively citrus note, while turbinado sugar balances the fruit’s natural tartness. Cinnamon, Valencia spice, and a splash of orange liqueur round out the flavors with a warm, fragrant finish that feels right at home during the holidays.

Spoon this jewel-toned jam over warm toast, English muffins, biscuits, or scones, or add a jar to your holiday breakfast or brunch table. It also makes a thoughtful homemade gift—dress it up with a pretty ribbon and share a little cranberry-strawberry sweetness with someone special.

Ingredients
  • 1 large orange (unpeeled, quartered)
  • 2 cups fresh cranberries
  • 15 ounces frozen strawberies (3 cups)
  • 3 cups granulated sugar
  • 3 ounces liquid fruit pectin
  • 2 tablespoons orange liqueur (or substitute frozen, concentrated OJ)
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon valencia spice (orange peel)
Instructions
  1. 1

In a Food Processor, combine the orange and cranberries. Pulse for 20 to 30 seconds or until well blended.

  2. 2

To a large, Heavy-Bottomed Pot, add the strawberries, cranberries, sugar, and orange mixture over medium-high heat.

  3. 3

Bring the mixture to a full boil over medium-high heat and cook for 2-3 minutes.

  4. 4

Meanwhile, if you're Canning this jam, prepare the jars and lids now. Otherwise, refer to the instructions below for "refrigerator jam".

  5. 5

Remove the jam mixture from the heat and stir in the cinnamon, Valencia, pectin, and orange liquor.

  6. 6

Carefully ladle the jam into the prepared jars while it's very hot. Secure the lids and allow the jars to cool on the counter.

If canning isn't your thing - or if you want to simplify this process, you can make this and keep it in a covered glass jar in the fridge for up to 4 weeks.

    Refrigerate any jam after opening.
