Preheat the oven to 325°F. Lightly grease either (2) 8 x 3-inch loaf pans or (1) 9 x 5-inch loaf pan with oil.

To make the sour milk, in a small bowl, add the milk and vinegar, stir to combine, and set it aside.

In a separate small bowl, beat the vegan egg according to the instructions on the package or use the above-mentioned instructions.

Next, cream together the butter and sugar in a large bowl. Add the prepared vegan egg mixture, sour milk, and bananas. Mix until well combined.

Whisk or sift together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in a medium bowl.

Blend the dry ingredients into the creamed mixture until just combined. Stir in 1 cup of the chopped nuts.

Pour the batter into the prepared pan(s), then place them on a baking sheet. Sprinkle with the remaining 1/2 cup of walnuts.
