Instructions

  1. For the Gravy

    Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add two tablespoons of olive oil, then add the sausage to the skillet and break it up with a spatula.

  1. Cook the sausage as instructed on the package until it's golden brown.

  1. Stir in the remaining 1/4 cup of oil and add the flour. Cook, stirring continuously for 3 to 5 minutes, until all the flour is incorporated and begins to brown.

  1. Stir in the water and continue to cook until the gravy comes to a boil. 

  1. Reduce the heat to medium, and stir in the milk and the garlic powder. Bring the gravy back up to a gentle simmer, stirring frequently.

  1. Remove the skillet from the heat and serve warm over biscuits.
