Crispy Zucchini Bites
Description
Each tender slice is dipped, coated, and pan-fried to perfection, creating a light, crunchy shell that gives way to a soft, melt-in-your-mouth center.
Perfect for sharing (or not—we won't judge), these little bites pair beautifully with warm marinara for dipping, making every bite savory, cozy, and just a little bit addictive.
Whether you serve them as a crowd-pleasing appetizer, a simple side, or a fun main, they bring that golden, crispy magic to the table—no fuss, just feel-good flavor.
Ingredients
Instructions
-
Using three small to medium-sized bowls, pour the milk into one, the flour, salt, and pepper into the second, and the breadcrumbs into the third.
-
Slice off the ends of the zucchini. Cut 1/2-inch zucchini rounds.
-
Place 5 to 6 pieces into the non-dairy milk, then transfer and coat them with the flour mixture.
-
Transfer them back into the liquid for a couple of seconds, then coat them with the breadcrumbs.
-
Transfer the zucchini to a platter and continue until all zucchini slices are breaded.
Â
-
Preheat the pan (preferably a cast-iron pan) over medium-high heat, then carefully add just enough oil to cover the bottom of the pan.
Â
-
Working in batches, place 4 to 5 rounds at a time into the skillet (don't over-crowd them), and cook for approximately 3 to 4 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and crispy.
Â
-
Using a slotted spoon, transfer the zucchini rounds from the pan to paper towels to drain excess oil.
Â
-
Heat the marinara sauce in a saucepan over medium-low heat and serve with the zucchini bites.
